The annual Shanghai-Taipei city forum will be convened on July 22 via video link, Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said on July 10.
Launched in 2010, the two cities have taken turns to host the forum.
Shanghai and Taipei have had exchanges and carried out cooperation in urban construction and governance with consensus reached in many fields, which has enhanced the well-being of people in the two cities and promoted their mutual cooperation, Zhu noted.
It’s in the interest of the people across the Straits for cities of the two sides to promote exchanges and cooperation along the right track and share the dividends of mutually beneficial cooperation, she said.
