In recent years, Shaanxi Province has leveraged its energy endowments and industrial foundation to accelerate green and low-carbon energy transformation, turning ecological and resource advantages into high-quality development. The State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Company Limited, with the construction of a new-type power system at its core, has connected green electricity with ecological protection and economic growth.
The photovoltaic agriculture and sightseeing tourism demonstration project in Liushuwa Village, Luonan County, Shangluo City, provides stable income for surrounding villages. Since the launch of the “Photovoltaic+” rural revitalization demonstration project for rural areas in 2024, State Grid Shaanxi has made every effort to provide grid connection services and operational support, with 139 demonstration villages already established. In addition, the company has accelerated the construction of key grid projects, such as the 750 kV third channel from northern Shaanxi to central Shaanxi plain, to ensure stable transmission of green electricity.
The winter orange processing workshops in Badong County, Hubei Province rely on stable electricity to establish a full cold chain system. This support is attributed to the transmission of clean electricity from Shaanxi. In recent years, leveraging its wind and solar resources, Shaanxi has constructed power transmission channels such as the Northern Shaanxi-Hubei ±800 kV ultra-high-voltage direct current line, continuously delivering green electricity to Central and Northern China. By 2025, Shaanxi’s annual exported electricity exceeded 100 billion kWh, including 530 million kWh of green electricity.
Currently, State Grid Shaanxi has established a four-level electricity market service system, setting up green certificate service stations in service halls to provide one-stop trading and certification services. It also promotes multi-year green electricity transactions to stabilize the expectations of new energy enterprises and meet users’ demand for green electricity.
It is expected that by the end of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), Shaanxi’s installed capacity of new energy will reach 122 million kilowatts, accounting for over 53 percent of the total. State Grid Shaanxi will continue to optimize access and service mechanisms to ensure that green electricity can be effectively integrated and efficiently utilized.
