BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- China has been an unwavering supporter of the international order and global cooperation with a foreign policy that upholds equality and justice and exemplifies solidarity and mutual respect, experts have said.
To pursue peaceful development and win-win cooperation and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind is the goal of China's diplomacy, said Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a press conference Sunday afternoon on the sidelines of the fourth session of China's 13th National People's Congress.
"Facing the new problems and challenges in globalization, the answer is not to retreat into protectionism, isolation or decoupling, but to work together to make globalization more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial for all," Wang said.
"Chinese foreign policy deals with all countries on the basis of achieving a mutual win, which is the main concept in solving problems peacefully with any country," said Muhammad Zahra, a Syrian expert on Chinese affairs.
China has sent a message that "it's able to respond to and repel any threat, but it prefers cooperation," explained the expert, noting that "China is trying to achieve sustainable and peaceful development ... without clashing with any other power."
At the press conference, Wang also stressed that China will continue to cooperate with other countries in solidarity and work tirelessly for humanity's final victory against the COVID-19 pandemic.
China has taken action to foster international cooperation against the pandemic, which resonates with the World Health Organization's call for countries to look beyond their borders when tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, said Cavince Adhere, a China-Africa relations expert based in Kenya.
Adhere added that Wang's message has enlivened hopes that China will continue helping the developing world mount an effective response to the pandemic.
China is committed to strengthening multilateralism, said Alberto Rojas, director of the Observatory of International Affairs of Chile's Finis Terrae University.
The shipment of medical supplies and the dispatch of health professionals to other countries, together with the development of effective vaccines, have put China at the forefront of the fight against the pandemic, said Rojas, adding that for many countries, "China's help has been very important."
Touching upon relations between the European Union and China, Georg Zanger, president of the Austrian Chinese Business Association, said broad cooperation is a win-win solution for both sides.
The economic agreements between China and the EU offer Europe the opportunity to benefit from growing investment and technology exchanges, and to keep pace with the development of the Chinese economy, said Zanger.
"After listening to Wang's speech, I am convinced that without China's head-of-state diplomacy headed by Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is being extremely active and efficient in international affairs, our civilization would be in no position to cope with the contemporary major global development problems," said Sylwester Szafarz, former consul general of Poland in the Chinese city of Shanghai.
