Premier Li Keqiang delivered the Government Work Report to the second session of the 13th National People's Congress in Beijing on Tuesday morning. Here are some views from ambassadors to China.

Jose Luis Bernal, ambassador of Mexico

There are several sectors in the Government Work Report that have special interest to Mexico. China is today Mexico's second-most important trading partner in the world. We pay special attention to China's economic growth, social development, and how the new reforms will influence the market so that consumption will increase and the Mexican businesses will be able to export more products to China.

We also closely watch China's domestic social development such as fighting poverty and combating corruption.

Ina Marciulionyte, ambassador of Lithuania

We're interested to see how China will continue to develop and what kinds of reforms will be launched. Foreign diplomats are interested in seeing how the market will continue to open up, and what conditions the foreign investment will have in China.

We've observed that China is serious about innovations in various aspects as well as in poverty alleviation and fight against pollution.

Miguel Angel Ramirez Ramos, ambassador of Cuba

I think the work report is in accordance with the result of the 19th National Congress of the CPC in 2017. Lots of things have been carried out by China in 2018--improving the life of the people, getting people out of poverty, developing the country, and facing the challenges of international environment. I think it's a very positive and an enthusiastic report for this year. I am also impressed when the Chinese premier talked about what China has been doing to improve the life of the people.

I think the targets set this year are feasible. If you see what china has been doing every year, I don't have any doubt that they will be achieved.

Nasreldin Ahmed, first secretary at embassy of Sudan

I'm happy to hear that the government will continue to promote the reform and opening-up. There are many things in the pipeline for foreign direct investment. The government plans to allow many companies in different kinds of sectors. In this upcoming session, the new law regarding foreign direct investment will be discussed. I believe more Sudanese companies will be allowed to come to China and more Chinese companies will go to Sudan.

Dhia Khaled, ambassador of Tunisia

I noticed many important things mentioned in today's report. It talks about employment, the protection of the environment, the opening-up of the Chinese economy and external trade, which are very impressive. As an ambassador, I wish success to the Chinese government in the coming year and I'd like to see more Chinese investors invest in Tunisia.

Alfred Schipke, IMF senior resident representative of China

When it comes to the opening-up of the financial sector, the bond market, the development of multi-tier capital market, the continued emphasis on controlling leverage, I think those are some of the issues that we are very interested in. And we are going to study the report.

We haven't seen the final version of the Foreign Investment Law yet. We will look at it. But further opening up, especially related to service sector, is very important. I think it will bring big benefits for China and big benefits to all the countries in the world.
