Reflecting on Xi’s keynote speech, former President of Albania Rexhep Meidani pointed out, “I believe this concept (building a community with a shared future for mankind) is not only very important, but also necessary to be adopted in other countries and by different leaders.” He went on to explain that the concept is linked with globalization, mutual cooperation, and inclusive multilateralism, while at the same time standing up against the ideas of protectionism. To him, this is why the contribution of China to globalization is remarkable.
According to former Deputy Prime Minister of Poland Grzegorz W. Kolodko, China has made many contributions to the ongoing globalization process. At this point in time, what he sees very important as indicated by Xi in his speech is that “China is very much in favor of continuation of globalization with a concern about making it more inclusive, what you call here in China win-win — that means beneficial for all partners involved. This is very important in the contemporary world, especially at the time where we have this trade war and the wave of nationalism and protectionism in the western countries starting from the United States.”
Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China Syed Hasan Javed saw President Xi Jinping’s speech on the opening-up of China and his proposal for an innovation-oriented future with inclusive development as “a new epoch-making initiative.” He then elaborated, “China has actually benefited from the globalization, and the world is now in a new stage of globalization with the Belt and Road Initiative. I think that China has made it known to the world that it's not only an exporter, but also an importer, a big market.”
