Life

Urbanization is in line with modernity and civilization. However, I wonder if it is being accomplished in the best possible way at the present time. Take Shanghai for example. It has incorporated the towns and villages on the exurb to grow it into a megacity. This urbanization move drives a horde of farmers to seek jobs in the city. These migrant workers are often underpaid and have to face problems of housing, medical care and schooling for their children. I suppose instead of building megalopolises and driving rural people to cities, we should make efforts to better life in countryside. Infrastructure needs to be improved and favorable policies should be offered to rural residents. Anyway, urbanization is aimed at improving rural people's lives, giving them the same facilities and benefits that permanent urban residents get.
