New Exam Will Facilitate Mainland Study by HK Students

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region will introduce a high school diploma exam next year, the results of which will be recognized by mainland universities as equal to entrance exams held in mainland provinces. It is believed that this will encourage more HK youth to study on the mainland. The presence of HK students in mainland universities has increased steadily since 2006, when their tuition costs and fees were lowered to the same level as their mainland peers. This year about 3,000 HK students were enrolled into mainland higher education system.
