"Media Olympics" to Hold Presidium Meeting in Beijing

The World Media Summit(WMS), dubbed as the "Media Olympics", will hold a presidium meeting in Beijing on Sept.27, the WMS Secretariat announced on Sunday.

According to the Secretariat, leaders of 11 international media organizations including WMS Executive Chairman and President of Xinhua News Agency Li Congjun and ten co-chairmen of the Summit will attend the meeting.

"It is a high level forum of international media organizations", said an official with the Secretariat.

The attendees to the meeting will have discussions on four topics including media IPR protection, media cooperation in the new media era, journalists' safety and media' role in natural disasters. Discussion of the next WMS plenary meeting will also be in the schedule.
