Questions with "吗"

An interrogative sentence is formed by adding the structural particle "吗" at the end of a declarative sentence (without changing the word order).

For example:

你 经常 自己 做饭 吗?

Nǐ jīngcháng zìjǐ zuòfàn ma?

Do you often cook?

 

Exercises: Transform declarative sentences into interrogative sentences by adding "吗".

For example:

今天 天气 好。

Jīntiān tiānqì hǎo.

It's a lovely day today.

今天 天气 好 吗?

Jīntiān tiānqì hǎo ma?

Is the weather good today?

1. 明天 上午 上课。

Míngtiān shàngwǔ shàngkè.

We have classes tomorrow morning.

2. 马克 认识 珍妮。

Mǎkè rènshi Zhēnní.

Mark knows Jenny.

3. 她 是 老师。

Tā shì lǎoshī.

She is a teacher.

lofty single (a woman who is old enough to marry but is still single. Usually she has a good education and high income.)

虽然 年龄 在 不断 增长, 但 "剩女" 并 不 降低 自己 的 择偶 标准。

Suīrán niánlíng zài búduàn zēngzhǎng, dàn "shèngnǚ" bìng bú jiàngdī zìjǐ de zé'ǒu biāozhǔn.

Though they are no longer young, lofty singles do not want to lower their standards for choosing a partner.

5. 富二代

fù'èrdài

the second-generation rich or silver-spoon generation

不少 "富二代" 不愿 接手 家族 生意, 而 选择 自己 创业。

Bùshǎo "fù'èrdài" búyuàn jiēshǒu jiāzú shēngyi, ér xuǎnzé zìjǐ chuàngyè.

Quite a few second-generation rich prefer to start their own companies rather than take over the family business.
