China's Central Government Agency Staff Donate RMB820 million

 

Officials and staff from China's central government agencies have donated more than 820 million yuan (US$120 million ) in cash to quake-hit Qinghai Province by the end of April 25th, according to the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Chinese President Hu Jintao, former President Jiang Zemin and other top leaders including Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang, all made donations.

A 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck northwest China's Qinghai Province on April 14. The earthquake had killed more than 2,200 people as of 5 p.m. on April 24th.
