ChiNext Starts up Trading

The listing ceremony for the first group of companies on the ChiNext was held in Shenzhen on October 30, 2009.

China's newly instated capital market ChiNext listed its first 28 companies after opening for trading on October 30.

The launching of ChiNext will help to establish and perfect financial support systems for enterprises engaged in independent innovation and other growth models. It is expected to play a strategic role in nurturing privately owned companies with innovative business models.

ChiNext's IPOs have already raised US $2.3 billion – far more than initially expectated, along with bringing in more than US $100 million in underwriting business to the nation's brokerages.
