Domestically Developed Regional Aircraft Awaits Delivery

A model of the domestically developed ARJ 21-900 aircraft on display at the 13th Beijing International Aviation Exhibition.

The ARJ 21, an independently designed aircraft, has entered the final stages of preparation for its maiden flight.

This is China's first domestically developed large aircraft designed to meet the requirements of the complex terrain in the plateau environment of western China. It is expected to be ready for delivery by 2010.

The first batch of ARJ 21 aircraft has already been ordered by a variety of airlines, including GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) of the United States and Sichuan UEAIR.
