First "Mobile Phone Admission Ticket" for World Expo Unveiled in Shanghai

Visitors to the World Expo will be treated to classy, high tech admission technology.

    The first "mobile phone admission ticket" in World Expo history was unveiled by Shanghai World Expo Bureau and China Mobile. With this "mobile phone admission ticket," visitors to Shanghai World Expo can enter the Expo Park, go shopping and dine in its restaurants by swiping their cell phones.

    Users do not need to change their phone numbers, but get a new SIM card that combines with radio frequency identification technology (RFID), to complete the whole process of selecting, purchasing and checking the ticket.

    "Mobile phone admission tickets" were launched in November, and priced the same as the paper ticket.
