Artists from Hebei Tour and Perform in Beijing Universities

    From June 8 to 14, nearly 100 artists, including famous singers, opera performers, musicians, martial arts champions, acrobats and dancers from Hebei, offered splendid performances in Beijing universities, fully illustrating the charming culture and art of Hebei. The “Charm of Hebei Culture” touring performance was jointly hosted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and the provincial culture department.

China Landscape Photography Exhibition by Liu Haixing

    Recently the “Grand China” landscape photography exhibition by Liu Haixing was opened at the National Art Museum of China. The 50 works on display are for sale, and earnings will be donated to “hope schools” in the Jinggangshan area. The exhibition was jointly hosted by the Guangdong Photographers’ Association, the Shenzhen Federation of Literature and Art, and the Shenzhen International Chamber of Commerce.

InterContinental Beijing Financial Street

    The New Zealand Food Festival, “Natural Flavor,” jointly hosted by the New Zealand Trade Development Board and the InterContinental Beijing Financial Street opened its doors on June 3. New Zealand’s ambassador to China Mr. Worker and his wife dined at the hotel’s Steak Exchange Restaurant and Bar, where famous New Zealand chef Luke Macann presided in the kitchen. Fengzhong Company Gets Patent Approved for Mobile Business

    Recently a patent was approved by the State Intellectual Property Office for the Fengzhong company (7234.com), related to a key technology of wireless addressing. The technology makes interactive mobile business services available by using the mobile communication network to integrate information from the Internet. China has the proprietary intellectual property rights on this technology. At present the total number of mobile users in China is close to 700 million. Alongside the construction and popularization of the 3G Network, the technology will be applied to sectors with broad market prospects in business and daily life.

First Western China Tourism Industry Expo Kicks off

    On June 19, the first Western China Tourism Industry Expo kicked off at the Chongqing International Convention and Exhibition Center. The Expo was jointly hosted by the National Tourism Administration and Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, and co-hosted by 12 provincial governments of western China. The event sought to showcase the tourism resources of western China, promote travel between the provinces and develop the west’s tourism market.

Tongqinghetang Industrial Sponsors Hike from Xining to Lhasa

    A hike from Xining to Lhasa, sponsored by the Zhejiang-based Tong- qinghetang Industrial Co., Ltd., began at Xining’s central square, Qinghai Province, on April 25.
