Conversation

I. Waiting for the Bus

Wáng Míng: Mǎkè, nǐ zài Běijīng zhèduàn shíjiān, gèzhǒng jiāotōng gōngjù dōu zuò guo le,

Běijīng de jiāotōng zěnmeyàng?

Wang Ming: Mark, you have taken various forms of transport during your stay in Beijing. What do you think of the traffic here?

Mǎkè: Běijīng de lù dàbùfen dōu tǐng kuān, jiēdào yě hěn gānjìng, búguò chángcháng dǔchē.

Mark: Most of the roads in Beijing are wide and clean. But there are often traffic jams.

Wang Ming: You’re right. The number of vehicles in Beijing has rapidly increased in recent years.

Mǎkè: Zhōngguó rén zhème duō, yīnggāi duō fāzhǎn gōnggòng jiāotōng.

Mark: China should develop more public transport facilities for its huge population.

Wang Ming: Buses in Beijing are convenient but too crowded.

Mark: There are so many people waiting for the bus at this stop. Has there been no bus for a while?
