 Taiwan Confirms Second Case of

 A/H1N1 Flu

Taiwan's health authorities say a 22-year-old female is confirmed to be the island's second case of the A/H1N1 influenza.

She was a Taiwan resident studying in New York who left the city on Tuesday on Cathay Pacific Airways' flight CX831. She arrived in Hong Hong and transferred to flight CX468, arriving in Taiwan Wednesday.

According to authorities, she had a sore throat before boarding the planes and wore a mask throughout the flights.

Taiwan's disease control center is seeking passengers who sat in rows 34 through 40 on flight CX468. They are believed to be at high risk for infection.

The student has been quarantined at the Taoyuan General Hospital and her flu symptoms abated after medical care.

Taiwan's health authorities confirmed a 52-year-old man, who also flew in from the United States, as the island's first confirmed A/H1N1 case Wednesday.
