Pacemaker and Monitor

Recently a special pacemaker was successfully implanted into a heart disease patient. It can help doctors assess the patient's state using a mobile phone and a wireless network.

The pacemaker collects information from the patient and transfers the data to a special database via wireless. The data is then sorted and analyzed before being sent to a physician. The data is encrypted, so it cannot be accessed by others during transfer. The new technology means patients need not travel back and forth between their homes and hospital, while still receiving timely guidance from their doctors.
