Shanghai to Build Underwater Early-warning Earthquake "Live Studio"

Construction of a station designed to monitor and transmit live sea floor conditions in Shanghai waters is soon to commence. The station network will monitor Shanghai's peripheral waters and, based on the energy readings and information on climate and seawater temperature fluctuations it receives via 30-meter-deep fibreoptic cables, is capable of sending out 7-second advance earthquake warnings.
