Afghanistan Signs Partnership Agreement with China

The government of Afghanistan will ink long-term partnership agreement with China, Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rasoul said Sunday. "Afghanistan would sign long-term partnership agreement with the People Republic of China and the agreement will probably be inked during President Hamid Karzai's participation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on June 6-7 in China,"Rasoul told a press conference.

He added that Afghanistan in the past had attended the SCO as a guest and it hoped to attend as an observer in the coming summit.

Afghanistan has already signed strategic and long-term partnership agreements with the United States, Britain, Germany, India, Italy and Australia.
