Chinese President's Representative Visits East Timor

Wang Zhizhen, Chinese President Hu Jintao's special representative, is to attend the celebration of the 10th anniversary of East Timor's founding and the establishment of sino-East Timor diplomatic ties from May 17 to 20, it was announced on Monday.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said that Wang's visit comes at the invitation of East Timor President Jose Ramos Horta.

Wang is vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, and deputy head of the Chinese Association for International Understanding.
