New Zealand, Chinese Energy Centers Discuss Wider Cooperation

Two major energy centers of China and New Zealand agreed Monday to explore further cooperation when a visiting delegation from northeast China's Jilin City said they hoped to form a long-term mechanism for cooperation with the city of New Plymouth.

The North Island city at the hub of New Zealand's burgeoning oil and gas industry is hosting a five-member delegation from Jilin, who arrived Monday on a two-day visit.

The delegation, the second from Jilin to New Plymouth in three years, is hoping to build a long-term platform for exchanges.
