Shanghai the World's No.5 Financial Center

The latest Global Financial Centres Index, which provides profiles, ratings and rankings for 75 financial centers worldwide, places Hong Kong in third place and Shanghai in fifth. London tops the list, followed by New York. Singapore was fourth. The other featured cities on the Chinese mainland are Beijing (19th) and Shenzhen (25th). The GFCI was first published by the Z/Yen Group in March 2007 and has subsequently been updated biannually.
