RMB 1.7 Billion
China will spend more than RMB 1.7 billion on the protection of historical sites in Tibet Autonomous Region from 2011 to 2015. This sum, RMB 300 million more than the total the government has invested in such schemes since the beginning of the reform and opening-up period, will fund 44 projects, including the refurbishing and maintenance of the Mindrolling Monastery and construction and expansion of four local museums. During the 11th Five-year Plan period of 2006-2010, 22 sites of historical interest in the region were refurbished. |
