China Donates Office Supplies to Cambodia's Education Ministry

The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia in November 2011 provided 5 sets of laptops and 1 medium-sized LCD TV to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to facilitate the modernization of the ministry. The handover ceremony was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Pan Guangxue and the Cambodian Minister of Education Im Sithy. Pan Guangxue said bilateral relations between China and Cambodia in the realms of education, youth and sports are good, but he also noted that there is still a need to strengthen and expand relations, especially between the two nations' youths. Im Sithy said that while English and French are the two foreign languages currently on offer in the public school curriculum, the ministry had also been considering adding Chinese language due to the growing importance of China on the world stage. The minister also asked China to consider helping develop Cambodia's higher education sector with regards to quality and technology.
