China, Vietnam Pledge to Enhance Law Enforcement Cooperation

Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu held talks on Thursday with his Vietnamese counterpart and pledged to enhance law enforcement cooperation between the two countries.

"China and Vietnam are not only friendly socialist neighbors, but also important partners," Meng said during his talks with Tran Dai Quang, Vietnamese Minister of Public Security and a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee.

Consolidating the friendship, unity and cooperation between the two countries is the common wish of, and in the fundamental interests of, the Chinese and the Vietnamese people, Meng said, and "is also conducive to the peace, stability, prosperity and development of the region."
