Deepening Administrative Reform to Promote Economic and Social Development

Invigorate the Market

Over the past year administrative system reform has been carried out across an ever-widening scope and at impressive depth, surpassing public expectations. The effects are evident: It has invigorated the market and economic and social development.

In 2013, the number of newly-registered market entities in China reached 11 million, an increase of 20 percent over 2012, with registered capital up 50 percent year-on-year. The six months from March to August this year have witnessed nearly 1.93 million newly-registered enterprises, up 61 percent, with their registered capital at RMB 9.84 trillion, an increase of 79.16 percent. Amid the global economic doldrums and continued economic restructuring at home, China’s GDP maintained a growth of 7.7 percent in 2013, and gained 7.5 percent in the first three quarters of this year. The constantly deepening reform of the administrative system has undoubtedly played a significant role in China’s economic development.

It is anticipated that administrative system reform will be comprehensively pushed to motivate both enterprises and society to promote economic growth as well as the law-based governance of China.
