WMTC-BOAO 2016 to Convene

The WMTC-BOAO, co-hosted by the Provincial People's Government of Hainan and the World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress, will be held from June 28 to July 1st  at the Boao Forum for Asia International Convention Center.

The themes of the WMTC-BOAO 2016 Congress are "Transboundary and Cross-Border, Leaping and Win-Win," and "Focusing on Global Medical Tourism Resources for Cross-Border Cooperation, Promoting the Leaping Development of Health Industry in the Silk Road."

In addition to the main agenda, the congress will include 11 sub-forums, among them: Factors Influencing the Growth of Outbound Medical Tourism from China; Telemedicine and Innovation in Healthcare Services; Best Practices of Quality Management Implementation in Healthcare Settings; Medical and Health, Investment and Financing, Cooperative Forum on Traditional Chinese Medicine Health Tourism; and International Medical Tourism and Insurance. Other main events were the China-Asia, China-America, China-Europe, and China-MENA Pacific Roundtable Summit for Medical Cooperation, and two salons: the Anti-aging and Medical Beauty Leaders Salon, and the Medical & Health Sector and the Financial Sector Leaders Salon.

As the Belt and Road Initiative is generally perceived as an opportunity to develop the new concept of international medical tourism, the congress will seize this opportunity to promote the domestic and international modern service trade, and to build a platform for both domestic and foreign businessmen and countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt, so providing cooperation opportunities between participating companies and international medical and health service resources. The congress will display new products, new services, and new technologies in the areas of international and domestic medical, health, well-being, and high-end resort tourism, so encouraging spot transactions, online and offline transactions and other multi-channel trading activities.

With the aim of promoting international, high-end, project resource cooperation, the congress committee has invited 150 worldwide industry leaders, such as: the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Cleveland Clinic, Princeton Healthcare, the EU-Kazakhstan health and medical tourism Association, and the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM). What's more, 150 Chinese local industry leaders will be invited, such as: Saint Lucia Consulting, Shanghai Medical Tourism Products & Promotion Platform, Forise International, Beijing Huimei Best Medical Technology Co., Ltd. and Health Link Service Co., Ltd. About 300 relevant industry executives and leaders will also participate in the exhibition and its various activities.
