Xi Jinping: The Governance of China – Published in Multilanguages

Compiled by China’s State Council Information Office, the Party Literature Research Office of the CPC Central Committee and China International Publishing Group, Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, published by the Foreign Languages Press, is available in Chinese (simplified and traditional), English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German, and Japanese. It is distributed worldwide.

After the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC Central Committee, with Xi Jinping as its newly elected general secretary, set off on a fresh journey of reform and opening-up and modernization. In the course of this new start, Xi Jinping made several speeches on the governance of China. Representing as they do the concepts and principles of governance and of CPC leadership, Xi’s ideas and assessments have answered both theoretical and practical questions about China’s development in the next phase of the country’s history.

This book is a compilation of Xi Jinping’s major works from November 15, 2012 to June 13, 2014; its 18 chapters comprise 79 speeches, talks, interviews, instructions, and correspondence. Relevant footnotes on China’s social system, history, and culture accompany each item. The book also includes 45 photos taken at different stages of Xi’s life, so giving readers a visual context to his work and life.

The publication of this book in multi-language editions is of great significance, as it will contribute to interpreting the concepts and principles of governance of the CPC leadership. It will also help the international community learn more about and better understand China’s ideas, path of development, domestic and foreign policies and response to international concerns about China.

The book is published in 10 editions, namely, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Japanese, all available in hardback and paperback, 155mm×235mm in size and 500 to 600 pages long, depending on the edition.
