In general, there are seven types of leave in China including sick leave, private leave, family leave, marriage leave, maternity leave, funeral leave and annual leave. If you are ill and unable to go to school or go to work, you ask for sick leave. If you need to handle a personal matter you ask for private leave. If you don’t live in the same city as your parents, you request family leave to visit them. You have marriage leave when you get married of course, and new mothers often ask for maternity leave. If one’s parents pass away, funeral leave is what is needed. Annual leave is an employment benefit. Taking a trip on your vacation may refresh you.
