Chinese vice premier meets former U.S. secretary of state
Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong on Wednesday met with visiting former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright.
Hailing stable China-U.S. relations, close mutual contacts and new progress on bilateral cooperation, Liu called for the two sides to further pragmatic cooperation, deepen people-to-people exchanges and enhance mutual strategic trust so as to build a new type of major-country relationship.
Albright said she is willing to play an active role in promoting U.S.-China relations and cooperation in various fields.
Albright served as U.S. Secretary of State from 1997 to 2001.
