Timothy Fok Tsun-ting: More HK Youths Ride on the Mainland Economic Locomotive

Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, a CPPCC National Committee member from Hong Kong, told the media that China has seen the world's fastest growth, and he hoped that young people in Hong Kong would get more involved in the "high-speed train" of China's economic development. Speaking at the ongoing annual session of China's political advisory body, he also stated that he believes that the mainland and the Special Administrative Region, which is strong in innovative cultural industries, have a broad space for exchanges and cooperation.

Timothy Fok Tsun-ting said he expects Hong Kong, Macao and neighboring Guangdong Province, to become one of the most economically dynamic regions worldwide. Guangdong has submitted a plan to the State Council which will establish a free trade zone covering parts of the province, HK and Macao.

Timothy Fok Tsun-ting also remarked that he is impressed with the remarkable changes in China since his father's generation, and looks forward to a better future for Hong Kong.
