Remember the War, Cherish World Peace

World War II was the battle in which peoples of the world united against fascist aggression. In summer of this year, amid ceremonies globally to mark the 70th anniversary of the D-Day Normandy landings, many international scholars acknowledged that China was the first big country among the allies to take up arms against the Axis powers. This acknowledgment affirmed that China’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression contained Japan’s combat strength and so made a significant contribution to the Allied Powers’ victory. There were in fact many foreign friends who supported China and its peoples by uniting with the Chinese army on the Chinese battlefield and jointly resisting the aggressions of Japanese fascist invaders. The Chinese people sincerely thank them. In commemorating these people and cherishing the memory of their exploits during WWII, we cherish also the hard-earned peace of today.
