China Posts Feb. Trade Deficit

China recorded a trade deficit of US $31.48 billion in February, the first time in one year, as import growth far outpaced exports.
Exports rose 18.4 percent from a year earlier to US $114.47 billion in February, while imports was up 39.6 percent at US $145.96 billion, customs data showed Saturday.
The country's foreign trade rose 7.3 percent year-on-year to US $533.03 in the first two months, with a combined trade deficit of US $4.25 billion U.S. dollars, the General Administration of Customs said.
