CPC Official Highlights Coalition with Other Parties

A parliamentary leader and senior official of the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC) in charge of the United Front work has emphasized the significance of working together with the country's non-communist parties and individuals.

The CPC can get over all hardships by continuously consolidating the unity and cooperation with these groups and individuals, said Du Qinglin, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Friday, at the inaugural ceremony of the Spring Semester of China's Central Institute of Socialism.

The CPC Central Committee has shown the priority it has given to the issue with the recent issuance of a special document on the management of representatives of these non-communist parties, according to the official, who also heads the United Front Department of the CPC Central Committee.

He pledged that the CPC will further carry on China's decades-old multiparty cooperation system, a fundamental political system in the country. The strengthening of the consensus between the CPC and these non-communist parties is fundamental to the development of the political system, he stressed.

China has eight non-communist parties. Recently, all of them reshuffled their leaderships, said Yan Junqi, president of the institute, in his speech.
