Sentence with the verb “在”

The verb “在” can indicate orientation. Its object is usually a noun or a pronoun of place.

Basic structure is noun (person or thing) + 在 + noun or pronoun (of place)

Examples:

邮局 在 学校 的 东边。

Yóujú zài xuéxiào de dōngbiān.

The post office is to the east of the school.

字典 在 桌子 上。

Zìdiǎn zài zhuōzi shang.

The dictionary is on the desk.

Mǎkè de sùshè zài túshūguǎn duìmiàn.

Mark’s dormitory is opposite to the library.

中华人民共和国位于亚洲大陆的东部。领土北起黑龙江江心,南到曾母暗沙;东起黑龙江与乌苏里江汇合处,西到帕米尔高原。

中国北邻蒙古,东北邻俄罗斯, 西与尼泊尔等国家接壤,南与缅甸等国相连,东部和东南部同日本、菲律宾等隔海相望。

The People’s Republic of China is located in the eastern part of the Asian Continent. The territory of China stretches from the center of the Heilong River in the north to the Zengmu Reef in the south. From east to west, Chinese territory extends from the confluence of the Heilong River and the Wusuli River to the Pamir Plateau.

China is bordered by Mongolia to the north; Russia to the northeast; Nepal and a few other countries to the west; and Myanmar and Vietnam to the south. Across the sea to the east and southeast are Japan, and the Philippines.

The Chinese mainland is flanked to the east and south by the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea and the South China Sea. The South China Sea Islands are the southernmost island group of China.
