CPPCC Members Question Ministers on "Government Work Report"

Discussion continues on the "Government Work Report" among members at the Annual CPPCC Session.

Members from the Jiu San Society, one of the Non-Communist parties in China, raised some tough questions on current housing issues... one of the main focuses of the work report. They were directed at senior officials from the Ministry of Land and Resources, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction.

The questions raised by the Members are frequently seen among the people who keep complaining the high price of real estates.

Han Zhongchao, CPPCC Member, said, "The current policy of limiting house purchasing is temporary. We need to know what exactly the source of the problem is. I hope to see the relevant authorities to give an answer as soon as possible."

Some Members suggest that more residences for low income people should be built in big cities.

CPPCC Member Li Bin said, "Some counties in the west of the country don't need houses like that. Because the housing problem is not as serious. These places are usually very poor. If too many low price house are to be built in there, it will add burden to the localities' finance. "

Some members gave suggestions on how to control the capital flow.

CPPCC Member Han Zhongchao said, "Any abundant fund will definitely flow to where it can make more profit. The property market is one of the best place. But I think the government should direct the fund to those places where money is more urgently needed."

The Vice Ministers from the Land and Resources, and the Housing and Urban-Rural Construction answered some of the members' questions and promised to organize thorough investigations on the issues so that they can provide better answers and solutions.
