Long Town in Mizhi County still maintains the custom of holding a farmer’s market every five days. Many elderly residents are accustomed to going to the market in the morning and take the opportunity to pay their electricity bills at the power supply station along the way. In response, the station’s service hall will open early at 6 a.m. during the day of farmer’s market, to accommodate locals who wish to rest and socialize there.
The station has been promoting the replacement of smart meters since 2024. To assist with the process, staff members voluntarily worked overtime and collaborated to complete the meter replacement for all users. With the widespread use of smart meters, villagers can conveniently pay their bills at home. In addition, the power supply station has conducted a survey of elderly residents living alone in the area, and ensured that every elderly person can use electricity safely through methods such as contacting their children for bill payments and providing regular home visits.

Also in 2024, 41 modern cold storage facilities were built in Long Town. The power supply station proactively organized its technical experts to conduct on-site inspections of the power lines and visit fruit farmers, accurately assessing the electricity consumption capacity of each cold storage facility, and collaborated with the local government to optimize the overall power supply plan.
To date, the power supply station has cumulatively constructed and renovated 2.93 kilometers of power supply lines and added five new transformers. Moreover, smart switches have been widely installed in key orchards and fruit distribution centers, ensuring uninterrupted power supply to cold storage facilities and the continuous and stable operation of apple processing production lines. This has driven an improvement in the quality and efficiency of the local apple industry, contributing to an increase in farmers’ income.
