House Searches Avoid Minors

The Jiangning District Procuratorate of Nanjing Municipality has conducted "no minors present" searches in the investigation of over 30 cases of corruption and dereliction of duty. Criminal psychology and criminal law experts hail this change, saying that it introduces a humane aspect to the rigors of law, and contributes to the healthy growth of young people. Witnessing their parents being questioned or arrested has a negative affect on minors, making them lose self-esteem, and feel alienated from their parents. Compulsory law enforcement measures may also arouse resentment in the young children of suspects, which could later evolve into a grudge against society.
