Ang Lee Granted Lifetime Achievement Award by IFP

Chinese director Ang Lee won the Bravo Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent 12th Annual IFP (Independent Feature Project) Gotham Awards. Previous winners of this award include Martin Scorsese and Robert de Niro. Ang Lee is the first Chinese winner.

The American Federation of Film Producers also awarded a cultural pluralism prize to Ang Lee for his lifetime dedication to the amalgamation of cinematic art, Western and Eastern culture, and the humanist spirit. His works have had profound impact on the viewing habits and tastes of American audiences, and are far in advance of their time.
