Wang Zhizhi Sacked by National Men's Basketball Team

The China Basketball Association recently announced its decision to dismiss basketball player Wang Zhizhi from the national team. According to the association, Wang defied discipline, lapsed in professional morals and flouted national interests by refusing to return to China and perform his duty as specified in the contract between his team and the Dallas Mavericks. The association did, however, confirm that it would give Wang the opportunity to correct his mistakes, as long as he genuinely repents and takes appropriate action immediately.

Other members of the national team expressed no sympathy for Wang. They believe he deserves this punishment for flouting Chinese athletes' glorious tradition of putting the interests and honor of their nation above all else.
