Non-government Investment Increases

One positive aspect of China's economic operations is its increase in collective and individual investment. From July to September, collective and individual investment increased by 18 percent -- a much higher margin than for the same period in 2001, indicating the formation of an internal growth mechanism in the Chinese economy, said economist Zhang Shuguang.

According to Zhang Shuguang, the Chinese economy is growing at an unexpectedly high momentum, indicating the formation of a new growth cycle. The main reason, besides China's entry into the WTO, is the internal growth factor of the Chinese economy.
