Beijing's First Emergency Shelter

The capital's first Emergency Shelter has been built in the Yuan Capital Wall Park. Covering an area of 600,980 square meters, the park can accommodate 253,300 people, so can provide shelter for the neighboring four residential sub-districts. An underground water supply and electrical grid are capable of satisfying all their needs in an emergency.

It is reported that the Beijing municipal government is planning a series of further emergency shelters.
