Stewed Beef Flank
(Hongshao Niunan )
Ingredients
500g. beef flank, half onion (chopped), 3 tbsp. oil, and cornstarch
mixture
(A) 1 carrot, half white radish (both cubed)
(B) 1 tbsp. wine, one-and-a-half tbsp. soy sauce, 2 tomatoes
(cubed), half tsp. salt, 5 cups water
Method
1. Cut the beef flank into cubes and blanch.
2. Fry the chopped onion in 3 tbsp. of oil, stir with (B), then
add the beef and cook for 20 minutes. Add (A) and stew for half
an hour, thicken with cornstarch mixture and serve.
