Chinese Individual Purchases Airbus Aircraft

Airbus recently announced that a Chinese individual has purchased three Airbus jets, which are due for delivering in 2006. It is said that the three aircrafts will be fitted out and furnished in Dallas, Texas. It will be the first of Airbus’ business jets to enter the Chinese market, and this is the first private customer. These planes usually sell for anything between US $55.4 million and US $66.5 million, so the three planes will cost well over US $1 billion. Airbus’ rival Boeing says it also received an order from a Chinese individual in 2005 valued at US $44.5 million.
