Hanshan County is located in eastern Anhui Province. Rich in resources, it has more than 30 different types of minerals. Its 5.28 billion tons of anhydrous anhydrite makes Hanshan Asia’s largest reserve of the mineral,. Thanks to these resources Hanshan County has become a leading producer of cast products, cement materials, porcelain, plaster, beer and knitwear.

Hanshan boasts beautiful landscape. The famous ancient Chinese writer, ideologist, politician and reformer Wang Anshi wrote Travel Notes of Baochan Mountain based on his experiences there. The Huayang cave, a typical karst landscape with numerous underground rivers and interwoven caves, and the Baochan Temple in Hanshan County are both frequently visited by tourists and travelers. The Taihu Mountain National Forest Park is resplendent with green trees and flowing streams. Other scenic spots include Puming Temple, Moon Lake, and the recently-discovered Neolithic cultural site in Lingjia Beach, where some 1,300 fine antique jades were unearthed.

| Taochang Anhydrite Mine |
| Located
in Taochang Town, Hanshan County, the Taochang Anhydrite Mine has
proven industrial reserves of 1.5 billion tons, and prospected reserves
of 5.28 billion tons. The high quality mine has a stable seam with
an average CaSO4 content of 88 percent. In some places, the content
reaches over 98 percent. It is the largest plaster seam in Asia, and
anhydrites can be found at a depth of 250 meters underground. The
mine is currently being explored and developed with investment from
the Hengtai Company, a subsidiary of the North Anhui Coal and Electricity
Group founded in October 2001.

| Lintou Industrial Park |
| Located in Lintao Town
in the southwest of Hanshan County, the Lintou Industrial Park is
famed for its casting industry. The town has excellent infrastructure
and transport services, and is linked to numerable highways. The planned
development area of the industrial park is 200 hectares. This is to
be divided into casting, light industry and high-tech areas. More
than 40 enterprises have moved into the park to manufacture more than
60 products including auto parts, ship parts, bridge equipment, dust
removers, machinery and body-building equipment.

| The Daping Industry and
Trade Group is a state-level agricultural enterprise that specializes
in oil processing, Traditional Chinese Medicine processing and specialty
breeding. Its 12 branches employ almost 1,000 people, and its total
assets amounted to RMB 280 million in 2004.
The group has seven oil processing enterprises with an average annual output of 500,000 tons, the highest in Anhui Province. Some of its dozens of products have won provincial and national organic and green food awards. Deer breeding and deer product development is one of the group’s key economic resources, with the Taihu Mountain Deer Breeding Center as its base. Traditional Chinese medicine processing has emerged as a new pillar industry, and the newly invested Taihu Mountain Herbal Medicine Piece Co., Ltd that has an average annual output of 5,000 tons is the largest traditional Chinese medicine plant in Anhui Province.
