English Training Agents Number 50,000 in China

An industry report for 2004 reveals that there were no less than 50,000 English language training agents in China, whose total market value amounts to RMB 15 billion. Last year, 75,000 people received English training at the New Oriental School, one of the country’s top English teaching institutes. Industry insiders predict that the number of English speakers in China will equal the total number of native English speakers throughout the world within 20 years.
