A New Law to Regulate Electrical Junk in China

At least 50 million television sets, 4 million refrigerators and 6 million washing machines are disposed of every year in China. Statistics indicate that Chinese households are about to get rid of an entire generation of household electrical appliances and appropriate disposal of this junk is a matter of public concern. A draft law on electrical junk is anticipated this year. It is likely that manufacturers will be obliged to reclaim their worn-out products.
