New Criteria for Cadre Promotion

New rules formulated by Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province stipulate that before a cadre is promoted the relevant organizational department must review their performance at the workplace and also solicit opinions from colleagues and neighbors.

The person to be promoted is required to provide their address, names of family members, hobbies, and details of major family issues. The organizational department will consult cadre archives and household registration data for information about a cadre’s family members and social associations and carry out investigations at their workplace and within their community, household and neighborhood. Those whose reputations do not stand up will not be promoted.
