Nationwide Crackdown on Internet Porn


China has launched a crackdown on Internet pornography. Of China's Netizens, 70 percent are students and 20 percent are juveniles. According to conservative estimates, 46 percent of juvenile Netizens visit porn websites.

On June 10, 2004 the China Internet Association opened a website inviting information and complaints about web pornography. So far, police have closed down 700 websites and arrested 329 suspected purveyors of pornographic images.
