Business Brisk at Weeping Bar

On Shengzhou Road in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, is a nine-square-meter "weeping bar," equipped with two desks, a sofa, and chili sauce and garlic for stimulating tears. At the corner of the room there is a box of glasses intended for smashing, where customers can vent their anger.

Business is brisk at this unconventional concern. It receives more than 10 customers per day, more than 80 percent of them women. The owner of the "weeping bar" earns 5,000 yuan per month. Psychologists hold that it demonstrates the need people have to express their pent-up feelings.
